The food was out of this world. I would recommend this place anyone whose thinking of going there, stop thinking about it and just do it as it's really worth it. The decoration of the place and overall looks were perfect and the staff were very friendly and helpful as well. We turned up early and they still seated us straight away. I'm really impressed with the place.
Had lunch there on Saturday. Staff were really helpful, and not overly attentive. They talked you through the menu if you wanted, including the sauces. Our waiter recommended the £18 menu options where you choose 2 meat dishes and 2 sides as this was our first visit, on the basis that this is what the restaurant is all about at its core. We went for the ribs, brisket, pulled pork and buffalo wings, with 2 salads, 1 coleslaw and 1 fries. The portions are generous, so I'm glad we didn't go for the option with 3 meats - we would never have finished it all. We both had a pint of the house IPA, which was beautiful - cold, sharp and citrusy. The accompanying picture shows both of our meals. Because we wanted to share, they brought side plates for us so we could split the meals without us asking. Otherwise you eat off the trays with brown paper lining them. I think my only criticism is with the brown paper, which falls apart and tears when the meat juices get absorbed. It would be fine if the paper was only for serving, but not when you are eating off it. The meat was delicious. The brisket was incredibly tender, and full of flavour. The ribs likewise. The pulled pork was good, and the chicken had a nice kick to it. I would probably go for another option of brisket next time instead of the chicken, but I'm not normally a fan of buffalo wings anyway. Couldn't fault our lunch. Everything worked - the staff, the building, and the delicious food. Clean toilets as well. You may struggle to get in though .... we booked 2-3 months ago and yesterday was the first available slot!

Great customer service, very attentive, tasty food, big portions so you're not left feeling hungry. Great evening had by me and my fiancee. Will definitely be back.
I have been eating here for about 8 years; being an African a bit fussy about my food but I can say I have tried everything on the menu from steak to salmon and I can say everything is to die for ... can’t wait to be there again next weekend... wonderful staff + great food ... where I come from we say small but mighty ..

Food is always amazing. Staff are friendly. Lovely atmosphere. A great place just for tea to meet with friends or have a special meal.
Delicious food, fast service, always really lovely. Been here a few times now, great service every time. Especially recommend the butter chicken

Wanted to impress my brother visiting from Spain! Got it in one, peeps! We both think you are an ideal spot for interesting and delicious food. As for the milkshakes - start with a climax and build up! W.O.W! I learn you are moving away plastic straws, so ecologically responsible too. Thank you for a great lunch.
Best bar in Barry with the friendliest staff. Goose Island IPA on keg is lovely if a little pricey. Sensible free water station and dog friendly too!

It's a spoons what do you expect? Cheap beer ànd food. Found staff and others at the bar friendly. Floor and table weren't to sticky. Everyone had a top on. No football shirts but this is south Wales so maybe old traditions still hold in these parts.
Special offer for one day only: 8oz sirloin and chips for a fiver! Bloody lovely! Staff are always really friendly here and service is quick. Love it.

The all you can eat menu is amazing value. Food is lovely and the staff are all so welcoming. Bargain at the price and well worth a visit.
Excellent meal, great service and very quick. My only complaint on the night I went it was really cold had to wear my coat all night but it was a very cold evening. Would definitely go again.

Must say a vast improvement in quality of food but staff training is needed as they were too interested in talking in the back than being behind counter serving.
Food is nice. When they actually have what you want in stock.. Usually we'll kept buy often full of kids mucking around and making mess. Seating is, in my opinion, too close together however outdoor seating is good.

Great food and great staff! It was quite busy when we had food. Only bad thing, our nan bread came a bit late and we had started eating our food. But the food tasted amazing!
Had a lovely meal. Good staff accommodated our needs very well. The outside May put people off but don't let it.

Nice carvery good service, pleasant staff, good value for money. Lots of parking. Exceptional breakfasts, all you can eat. Nice place to go with family and friends. Best to book carvery as it is very popular.
I went for the carvery with my almost 2 year old and I got a large to share with her. Let's just say she enjoyed it that much she only let me have a taste. She really enjoyed the food and the dessert. Defiantly worth the price as it is cheaper in the day time. Would definitely recommend and be going again. Really good prices and the food that I got to try was amazing 🤣

Easily one of the best pubs in Barry if not the Vale, very relaxed atmosphere, great music and kind staff. Definitely recommend.
Great little pub, has a real pub feel to it for those of us that don't like bars. Really friendly staff... And a free juke box, what more could one want.
Harbour Rd, Barry CF62 5SB, UK – 01446 729060
What you would expect from a Hungry Horse. The menu is standard but offers a good selection at reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and helpful politely dealing with an occasional complaint. Pleasant garden and play area. Also very handy for at least some bus stops.
Another restaurant linked to the ostercatcher, the ship is just as good and overlooks barry island and the ocean. The food is great and has a selection of different meals then others in this food franchise because it is closer to the sea there are lots of fish and seafood is incorporated into there food. It's a 5/5 from me
