Lovely hotel with fantastic staff that were friendly and very helpful. The food (both dinner and breakfast) was really delicious. Would definitely stay here again.
Let down by pick up service. We booked to stay and park as our flight was at 5:45am. We found the check in process, as well as the transfer to the airport straight forward and efficient. However, the day we returned, we called the hotel @ 2.45pm while we were waiting for our bags as instructed, but didn't get returned to the hotel until 3:30pm. I had thought that I would make use of the hotel for future trips, but the debacle on the return has made me re-consider

Absolute amazing place to stay, we camped. The staff here go way above and beyond exspecations. Would recommend to any family who want to camp at a nice affordable camp site. On site toilets showers and washing up bloke very clean and tidy. And of cause on site bar and food available all day. My family will be coming again soon.
I chose Wales to celebrate my birthday and wanted a hotel that was convenient for day trips: Avebury on the way in, Pembroke Coast the next day, and the last day to castles and Tinturn Abbey. As I researched, I kept coming back to Vale Park Hotel and am so glad that I did. Since we had friends from England coming over to see us, they too stayed here. This made for a wonderful time as we laughed and reminisced. Sharon and Gerald were very friendly and helpful and we liked chatting with them. We also enjoyed a drink from their bar before going out to dinner to celebrate my birthday with our friends. Breakfast was good, especially the strawberries. Sharon and Gerald offered numerous suggestions about the area, which were very helpful since we were visiting from the USA. If we are ever back in the area again, my husband and I will not hesitate to stay! ...and if not, we highly recommend it to others.

Come here every 3 months with friends to catch up. Staff are great, menu has plenty to choose from. Happy and relaxed atmosphere. Nice garden to relax outside. Not expensive and great food is the reason we always come back. See you soon colcot arms:)
Food good, no frills, basic menu. Table a bit grubby, needed a good wipe before we could eat. The place looked comfortable enough, but there was definitely a grubby 'feel' about the whole place. Sad, because it's in a prominent, busy position on the main road. Just needs a bit more tlc (I remember it from some 20+ years ago when it was always immaculate) and maybe one or two more staff...

It's a spoons what do you expect? Cheap beer ànd food. Found staff and others at the bar friendly. Floor and table weren't to sticky. Everyone had a top on. No football shirts but this is south Wales so maybe old traditions still hold in these parts.
Special offer for one day only: 8oz sirloin and chips for a fiver! Bloody lovely! Staff are always really friendly here and service is quick. Love it.

What you would expect from a Hungry Horse. The menu is standard but offers a good selection at reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and helpful politely dealing with an occasional complaint. Pleasant garden and play area. Also very handy for at least some bus stops.
Another restaurant linked to the ostercatcher, the ship is just as good and overlooks barry island and the ocean. The food is great and has a selection of different meals then others in this food franchise because it is closer to the sea there are lots of fish and seafood is incorporated into there food. It's a 5/5 from me

Really thoughtful touches in the cottage and felt welcome from the moment I opened the door. Lovely views to be enjoyed with a glass on the balcony. Great location for the coast, local villages and quick access to Cardiff. Really lucky to find this cottage.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

The car boot sale's every Sunday are amazing. Friendly people, awesome refreshments, rides and even some entertainment. Got some amazing deals as well!
Porthkerry park holds a car boot sale every dry Sunday at 1pm and this is the reason we go there. Great boot sale if anyone likes that type of thing.
